Student Selection Process

Student Selection Process (Point System)

Application deadline is May 15th. The program begins once a year in the fall semester only. Admission is limited, based on clinical site placement opportunities.

Selection for the program is based on a point system. GPA points are awarded as indicated below. Additional points are awarded through HOBET and Phase II evaluations.

ASSOCIATE DEGREE TRACK

Phase I: Points Earned

GPA in pre-requisite courses
  • 3.9 - 4.0 = 40 points
  • 3.7 - 3.8 = 35 points
  • 3.5 - 3.6 = 30 points
  • 3.3 - 3.4 = 25 points
  • 3.0 - 3.2 = 20 points
GPA in any additional college courses
  • 4.0 - 3.91 = 15 points
  • 3.90 - 3.81 = 14 points
  • 3.80 - 3.71 = 13 points
  • 3.70 - 3.61 = 12 points
  • 3.60 - 3.51 = 11 points
  • 3.50 - 3.41 = 10 points
  • 3.40 - 3.31 = 9 points
  • 3.30 - 3.21 = 8 points
  • 3.20 - 3.11 = 7 points
  • 3.10 - 3.00 = 6 points
  • 2.99 - 2.89 = 5 points
  • 2.88 - 2.50 = 1 point

The student selection process is the same as the associate degree track except for the following:

Vascular or Cardiac sonography 3 points
Radiologic Technology, RN, Respisratory Therapy, MD 2 points
Applicable science degree, EMT, or Paramedic 1 point

Phase II: Invitation only

Phase II is for applicants who have scored very well in Phase I. It is by invitation only and will be conducted in an interview format to identify personal strengths related to student learning outcomes of the program as well as command knowledge of basic concepts within the pre-requisite course materials.   

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT NOT ALL APPLICANTS WHO COMPLETE THE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS ARE ADMITTED TO THE PROGRAM.
