Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico - 2014 SpringBoard! Scholarship for Women

SpringBoard!, a program of the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico, will be awarding $1,000 scholarships in 2014 to deserving southern NM women pursuing higher education at a southern NM community college or technical college.

In addition, an "Over The Rainbow" scholarship will be awarded for $500 to a southern NM women attending either New Mexico State University or Dona Ana Community College.

P.E.O. Continuing Education Grant

The P.E.O. Grant provides a one-time grant of up to $3,000 to women whose college education has been interrupted.

A woman is eligible if she meets the following grant requirements:

  • Sponsored by a P.E.O. Chapter (obtained after the interview process)
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Has had 24 consecutive months as a non-student sometime in her adult life
  • Within 24 consecutive months of completing her educational goal

A national scholarship program for high achieving college students interested in pursuing careers in the insurance and financial services industry.

National Federation of the Blind

The National Federation of the Blind of New Mexico offers yearly scholarships to legally blind students attending any college, university, or vocational school. 

Scholarship applicants must be registered and present at the state convention in order to receive a scholarship. Winners will be notified two weeks prior to the convention, which is held April 4-6, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM.

Goedecker's College Scholarship - Win up to $500 for books

Goedecker's is a St. Louis-based, family-oriented company dedicated to excellence in service, convenience in shopping, and offering quality products at affordable prices. We sell an expansive selection of name brand kitchen appliances, washers and dryers, mattresses, and other home furnishings.

Goedecker's if offering students an opportunity to write an essay about why attending college and your field of study are important to you. Give insight into:

  • your personal background
  • your philosophy about learning
  • why you chose your field in particular
  • and any other information you feel is relevant. 

Essays will be judged based on originality, creativity, organization of thought, and proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar. 

This scholarship applies toward the fall 2014 semester. 

Submission Requirements:

  1. Essay length should be 300 words minimum
  2. Proof that you have a 3.0 GPA or higher
  3. Clear contact information (name, mailing address, preferred means of contact)
  4. A few sentences about yourself and a recent photo 
  5. Proof that you are enrolled in an accredited college for the spring 2014 semester OR proof that you have been accepted at an accredited college for the fall 2014 semes
